Teeter Popper by Fat Brain Toys
Here is a fun play item you have to check out. It may not be on your radar, it’s called the Teeter Popper by Fat Brain Toys. I got a first hand look at Sweet Suite in July. It is fun for all children, but is also great for kids with sensory issues.
It looks like a cross between a scooter and a see saw. It’s about 2 1/2 feet long, and about a foot wide. It comes in lots of colors priced around $35. (Though you can get for a bit less on Amazon.)
Holding up to 65 pounds, kids can stand, rock, sit, tilt and wobble on it. As they do, the Teeter Popper makes a fun popping sound that can reward movement. Kids are encouraged to go faster or slower to change the tempo of the popping! As a result, it can engage imagination since it is an open ended toy. For kids on the autism spectrum, it can stimulate senses, and help with gross motor skills.
I think it’s one of those classic toys that can appeal to a variety of ages and genders and should have a place in a playroom, at home, at a daycare or school setting.
