collectible toysJust announced in time for Toy Fair 2020, Super7 is expanding its license with Hasbro, Inc. on an incredible fan favorite: the Super Shogun TRANSFORMERS Optimus Prime!
Super7 is a premier pop-culture design house and producer of lifestyle-oriented collectibles, toys, and apparel based in San Francisco. His love of science fiction, giant monsters, comic books, punk rock, skateboarding, robots, and rebellion lead to his product line.

Shogun Toys

The Super Shogun TRANSFORMERS Optimus Prime is an oversized figure based on the 1970s’Shogun Warriors Toy line. These are some of the most expensive vintage toys that collectors covet, with almost 50 different figures originally made in Japan. The Super Shogun TRANSFORMERS Optimus Prime is a nod to those toys. It’s also a throwback to the very first toy Super7 made for the US market – a Super Shogun Stormtrooper in 2010.
With the uniqueness of the figure, the short order period, and the Transformer name, this will especially appeal to collectors. (Which is what Super7 is probably hoping for.)
While it will appeal to collectors, this will also appeal as a toy. This Optimus Prime will have G1-era accurate paint job and detailing, three points of articulation, wheels on feet for rolling combat action, and a spring-loaded, “rocket firing” left fist. There will be a removable Ion Blaster, and the chest opens to reveal removable Matrix of Leadership. It will also include a sticker sheet for customizable display.
However, at $350 (including shipping) adults may not want kids to play with this! Either way, the Super Shogun TRANSFORMERS Optimus Prime 24-inch tall figure is available for preorder exclusively at select partner retailers, such as FAO Schwarz, only from Feb 21 through Mar 31.
